Snow, ice and fireworks in first days of new year

Bright firework colours, white flakes of snow and crisp frost have ushered in 2026.

Those with a keen eye for a perfect scene have turned their cameras to the north-east of England and Cumbria, capturing New Years' celebrations and icy moments.
