Daniel Tate was jailed after pleading guilty at Doncaster Magistrates' Court

A driver who refused to confirm his details to police was quickly identified when officers spotted he had his name tattooed on his neck.

Daniel Tate, 35, was driving a grey Mitsubishi Shogun on Chappell Drive on 25 January when he was pulled over by an officer.

Video footage shared by South Yorkshire Police shows Tate initially denying being called Daniel, before admitting it when the officer points out "you've got Daniel written on your neck".

Tate, of Woodlands, Doncaster, was jailed for six months after he admitted driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

The force, who shared footage of the arrest online, said Tate also pleaded guilty to failing to co-operate with a preliminary test after refusing to provide a sample of breath drug wipe.

He was sentenced at Doncaster Magistrates' Court on 26 January

Arresting officer Sophie Drinkall said: "As roads policing officers, we all too often witness the consequences of drivers who believe they're untouchable and show blatant disregard for the law, for our roads, and for the people who use them.

"Tate had been disqualified from driving previously but has continued to show complete disregard for the law and everyone's safety."

In addition to the jail term, Tate was banned from driving for five years and ordered to pay £239 in costs.
