Dealer jailed after drugs and cash found in bag
South Yorkshire PoliceA drug dealer has been jailed for over six years after police on a routine patrol seized a holdall containing over £40,000 worth of cocaine.
Elliot Bucknall, 21, of Theobald Avenue, was seen delivering the bag, which also contained about £3,000 worth of heroin and £4,885 in cash, to an accomplice in the Hyde Park area of Doncaster, South Yorkshire Police said.
He initially fled, but was later arrested and charged with multiple drug dealing offences after forensic work linked him to the holdall and the drugs.
Bucknall pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine and was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday to 76 months imprisonment.
He was also disqualified from driving for 13 months after pleading guilty to separate offences linked to an incident of dangerous driving, including driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and failing to stop.
South Yorkshire PoliceFollowing sentencing, Det Con Ellen Hoszowski, in charge of the case, said: "Bucknall sought to profit from the misery, violence and fear the drugs trade brings to our local communities.
"Drug dealers may think they are untouchable but, behind the scenes, teams are working relentlessly to gather vital intelligence on their activities and whereabouts.
"The information the public provides helps to shape and steer our investigations, and I encourage anyone with concerns about possible drug dealing in their area to contact us."
