Joseph Leng died following a crash in Lindholme on 14 January

The family of a man who died after a car crash in Doncaster has said his spirit "will stay with us forever".

Joseph Leng died in hospital following a collision on 14 January involving the orange Mini Cooper he was driving and a grey Volkswagen Golf on the A614 at Lindholme.

The 33-year-old's family said: "Joe was a warm-hearted, fun and loyal character. He had a rare gift for making people smile and laugh. His heart spoke truth without needing to be loud."

In a statement, they said he was a "beloved son, brother, uncle and grandson" who would be remembered for his "gentle heart and the love he shared so freely".

They described him as "dedicated" to his family, friends and pet cat Jiji.

'Memory will live on'

In their statement, his family said that he "came into our lives and filled it with light, laughter and warmth to everyone around him".

"Joe, we miss you more than words can say, and we are grateful for every moment spent with you," they said.

"Your memory will live on in everybody who knew and loved you. A part of our family will forever be missing."

South Yorkshire Police said its investigation into the circumstances of the crash remained ongoing and asked anyone with information to get in touch.

A woman and child injured in the crash suffered non-life-threatening injuries and had recovered, a force spokesperson said.

No one had been arrested in connection with the incident.

The spokesperson added: "Our thoughts remain with Joe's family, who continue to be supported by their family liaison officer."
