A man has died and a woman and a child have been injured in a crash near Doncaster.

The 33-year-old man was seriously hurt in the two-car collision at about 19:40 GMT on Wednesday and was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The woman, in her 20s, and the child suffered injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening and were also taken to hospital for treatment, according to police.

An orange Mini Cooper, driven by the man, and a grey Volkswagen, driven by the woman, were involved in the collision on the A614 at Lindholme.

The man's family had been informed and police urged witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage from the scene, to come forward, a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.
