Body found in countryside search for missing man

A body has been found in the search for a man who went missing a week ago.

Formal identification has not taken place yet, but the family of Adrian Knott, 51, who was reported missing last Sunday, have been informed.

The body was discovered at the Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries and Galloway, at about 10.40 on Saturday.

Police said the death was being treated as unexplained but it was not thought to be suspicious.

Police have been using a helicopter and drones to search the countryside to try to trace Mr Knott.
