Two cats saved by firefighters from flat blaze

Firefighters were pictured holding the rescued cats following the fire in Worthing
The crews managed to rescue a kitten and carefully examined the animal to ensure it was unharmed

Two cats have been rescued from a fire at a flat.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the building in Worthing, West Sussex, to save the pets after being called at 10:00 GMT.

The flames were brought under control and firefighters were seen holding the animals outside the property on Orme Road.

The fire service left the scene at 11:40. A cause for the fire has not yet been confirmed.
