PC denies stalking woman using police equipment
PA MediaA police officer has pleaded not guilty to using police equipment to stalk a woman.
PC Peter De Silvo, of Worthing in West Sussex, denied stalking the woman between October 2021 and 2023 when he appeared at Guildford Crown Court on Monday.
The 48-year-old is accused of checking sat-nav records, dashcam footage, a tracking app, photographing personal items and accessing emails.
De Silvo, who has been suspended from the force, also denied accessing the police's automatic number plate recognition system to check the woman's movements in November 2021.
He also pleaded not guilty to gaining unauthorised access to a Sussex Police system in relation to a man in the same month.
De Silvo also denied a charge of unlawfully obtaining access to personal data from a crime reporting system in June 2021, and a charge of fraud by false representation to Adur and Worthing councils in July 2022.
A further hearing where De Silvo is expected to enter pleas on three further data protection charges is scheduled for 2 June.
A trial is due to begin in December.
Sussex Police previously said misconduct proceedings would be considered after the criminal case has concluded.
