Peter De Silvo allegedly misused police equipment to stalk a woman for two years, a court is told

A police officer hacked accounts and misused police equipment including automatic number plate recognition cameras to stalk a woman, a court has heard.

PC Peter De Silvo, 48, from Worthing, West Sussex, is charged with stalking the woman known to him between October 2021 and 2023.

He is also charged with fraud by false representation, two counts of computer misuse, and five charges under the Data Protection Act, the earliest dating back to 2018.

Appearing at Staines Magistrates' Court De Silvo spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth before being bailed to appear at Guildford Crown Court on 16 February.

Sussex Police have said misconduct proceedings will be considered after criminal proceedings have concluded.
