A woman has died after being found with serious injuries at a house, police have said.

The woman, in her 40s, died in hospital on 12 March after an incident in Tweentown in Cheddar, Somerset, on 28 February.

A man in his 60s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of wounding with intent, while a woman in her 80s was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Both remain on police bail.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said the woman's family had been informed and were being supported by specially-trained officers.

They added that the investigation was still underway to establish how the woman had been injured, and asked anyone with information to contact police.
