Libraries offer free warm spaces throughout winter
Getty ImagesLibraries across Warwickshire will offer free spaces to help residents stay warm and supported throughout winter.
The county council will take part in Warm Welcome Week, a UK-wide campaign from 19 to 25 January, which aims to bring communities together.
Libraries across the county will offer free events, including board games, mindful colouring and other relaxed social activities.
Creatives will provide workshops like floristry sessions to help residents learn new skills and meet other people. All events in the county can be booked online for free through website Eventbrite.
Councillor Mike Bannister said that the Warm Welcome offer showed how much more libraries provided beyond books.
"{It} is a great opportunity to shine a light on this fantastic offer and to encourage anyone who may be struggling with the cold, feeling isolated or just in need of company to step inside their local library and enjoy a warm and friendly environment," he added.
