E-scooter rider seriously injured in taxi crash

An e-scooter rider has suffered a serious ankle injury after a crash with a taxi, police have said.

The collision took place on the roundabout between Queensway and Palmerston Road in Southampton on Friday, between 11:00 BST and 11:30.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight constabulary said the driver of the silver taxi left the scene and a 36-year-old man on a Voi e-scooter "suffered a serious ankle injury".

Officers would like to identify the taxi involved and would like to hear from witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage of the crash.
