Bristol Animal Rescue CentreLeft behind: The Bristol Animal Rescue Centre says there is an "ongoing need" for responsible pet ownership after taking in 164 stray dogs this year, 37 of which did not have microchips so their original owners cannot be traced. The dogs are often found in Lawrence Hill, The Downs, Hartcliffe and Withywood, some of them tied to trees with no food.
Liz Beacon/BBCCleaning up: The Green British Foundation organised a beach clean day at Weston-super-Mare this week, with volunteers getting busy with their litter pickers to remove much of the rubbish left over from the busy summer months.
FoundersCommunity: for the FOUNDERS, a new network, launched at the Clockwise Generator Building in Bristol. It is aimed at providing a place where people who set up independent organisations can support each other. Samantha Hamlin and Christine Kavanagh, pictured, are among the leadership team.
