Bristol in pictures: Pride, politics and zombies

At any point, there are dozens of photographers out and about in Bristol capturing snapshots of life, from news to sport and live entertainment.

Here are just a handful of images taken in the city over the past few days.

Time to celebrate: Bristol Pride brought a blaze of colour to our streets as a bright parade walked through the city centre on Saturday.

The Human League headlined the main stage at the Downs, and crowds were also treated to songs by Ladytron and Claire Richards from STEPS.

Goal: Thousands of people filled bars and pubs across Bristol to watch England's semi-final against the Netherlands.

It was a dramatic finish, with the score at 1-1 in Dortmund, the ball fell to Weston-super-Mare's former striker Ollie Watkins to score the winning goal.

First day: Newly-elected MPs from Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire travelled to London to begin working in Parliament.

More than half the intake are completely new to the Commons and could be spotted struggling to find their way around on Monday as they began life as an MP.

Zombie apocalypse: Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park put eight zombies on a train from Bristol Temple Meads to Keynsham ahead of its Summer Frights events.

Striding into Bristol: Miriam Margoyles dropped into the Jacob Wells Baths in Hotwells on Friday to visit the Grade II listed, which is being transformed into an arts centre.

Speaking about the £1.6m restoration, Ms Margolyes said: "I think one of the most important things in the world is to make life better for young people.

"Here's a place that really can help young people who live around here."

High hopes: Lucky competition winners enjoyed a rave in the sky in a hot air balloon over Bristol this week.

It was organised by Hospitality, the events arm of UK drum & bass label Hospital Records ahead of the Siren all-day rave on the Harbourside on 3 August.

Local DJ Anais performed for the group in the intimate setting of the balloon basket.
