Pair accused of bus station attack appear in court

Two people have appeared before magistrates charged with affray after an alleged attack on a teenage boy at a bus station.

The 17-year-old victim suffered what police described as a non-life threatening leg injury in the incident, which happened at Dewsbury Bus Station on 16 January.

Alfie Young, 23, of Albion Steet , Dewsbury, and Sarah Fennell, 35, of Overthorpe Road, Dewsbury, both appeared before Leeds Magistrates' Court on Monday 19 January.

Young, who was charged with one count of affray and one count of remaining on a premises in contravention of a closure order, was remanded in custody and is due to appear before the same court on Monday 26 January.

Fennell who was charged with one count of affray was bailed to appear before the same court on 12 March.

A 17-year-old boy, who was also arrested on suspicion of affray remains on bail pending ongoing inquiries, police said.
