Man, 35, arrested over suspected arson attack

A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a suspected arson attack after a fire at a property in Dewsbury.

Residents were evacuated from nearby homes as a precautionary measure after police and firefighters were called to Quarry View at about 20:30 GMT on Monday.

No-one was injured, West Yorkshire Police confirmed.

A man was arrested a short time later in connection with the incident, which is being treated as arson, and he remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing.
