A man has been killed in a crash outside a pub on New Year's Eve.

The man in his 60s was hit by a red Chevrolet on the A596 near The Stag Inn in Crosby, near Maryport, Cumbria, at about 22:00 GMT, Cumbria Police said.

The force said the pedestrian, who lived locally, was declared dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
