Drug dealer who fled from officers jailed
Wiltshire PoliceA drug dealer has been jailed for five years after he was caught with hundreds of pounds worth of Class A and B drugs.
Oscar Webster, 25, attempted to run from officers after he was approached in a car park at the Orbital Shopping Park in Swindon, Wiltshire, on 7 November, officers said.
Police said officers found cocaine in his car and discovered a phone nearby, which gave evidence of his role in the supply of cocaine across multiple towns in Wiltshire.
Webster, of Massey Road in Devizes, was jailed at Swindon Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty for his role in the supply of cocaine.
Webster was on a suspended sentence for cocaine supply when he was approached on 7 November.
He had made an attempt to dispose of his phone, car keys and jacket to prevent police from finding evidence of his offences, officers said.
In total, more than £1,300 of Class A and B drugs along with £400 cash and numerous mobile devices were seized from the scene.
Acting Sgt Sam Young, of Wiltshire Police, said: "Webster is a repeat offender who clearly hasn't learned his lesson from his previous conviction for drug dealing."
"Knowing he was on a suspended sentence for supplying cocaine, he tried to flee from officers having been seen drug dealing, but he was no match for the Swindon Local Police Tasking Team.
"I'm pleased he has pleaded guilty and now been jailed for his offences, and we will continue to be robust with those who bring harm to our streets."
At Swindon Crown Court, the judge also activated Webster's suspended sentence of 16 months custodial sentence, issued for a previous conviction for supplying Class A drugs.
