More resurfacing along A49 after work finishes early
National HighwaysWork to repair a deteriorating stretch of road is due to finish a week early, so contractors will use the extra time to resurface another section of the same road.
The resurfacing of the A49 at Church Stretton in Shropshire began on 4 August and had been due to continue until 13 September, but it will instead end on 5 September.
National Highways said from 8 September work would be carried out over five nights south of Church Stretton, in the direction of Marshbrook.
It will mean overnight closures between 20:00 BST and 06:00 BST between the B4370 at Marshbrook and just south of the B5477 junction at Church Stretton.
There will be a weight restriction of 7.5 tonnes for vehicles using the B5477 during the overnight closures.
National Highways said it was carrying out the work because of "the deterioration of the carriageway beneath the road surface".
