The man was found injured at the junction of Main Street and Iron Row in Burley in Wharfedale just before 10:00 GMT on Sunday.
West Yorkshire Police said a 30-year-old man who had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder had now been re-arrested on suspicion of murder following the victim's death.
Two 23-year-old women arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder also remained in custody, the force said.
Officers said they believed the incident was a targeted attack and appealed for anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area to get in touch.
