A pedestrian remains in hospital after being hit by a car on a busy road in Leicester.

The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was struck by the car in Belgrave Road just before 16:00 GMT on Sunday.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, said Leicestershire Police, which has asked anyone with any information to make contact.

The road, also known as Leicester's Golden Mile, was closed in both directions but has since reopened.
