Woman, 78, dies after serious injuries

A 78-year-old woman found seriously injured in a Coventry street two weeks ago has died, police have said, but they are not treating the incident as suspicious.

West Midlands Police issued a public appeal after the woman was found in James Green Road on the afternoon of 13 January with significant head injuries.

As part of their inquiries, they asked for anyone who was in the area or had dashcam footage to get in touch.

Now the force has confirmed the woman has since died and that its investigation did not find the circumstances suspicious.

The matter has been passed to the coroner, a spokesperson said.
