Christmas Day weather warning for 65mph wind gusts

A yellow weather warning covered a large swathe of Wales on Christmas Day.

The Met Office warned of "strong and gusty east to northeasterly winds" leading to possible disruption.

Gusts of up to 55mph (89km/hr) were expected widely, it said, with up to 65mph (105km/hr) gusts along exposed coasts and high ground.

It also warned of possible disruption to travel and power supplies.

"Large waves will be an additional hazard on some coasts," the forecaster added.

Its warning covers 18 of Wales' 22 council areas including
