The partner of a man who died in a road crash has described him as the "love of my life".

Sylvester Abayomi, 50, was killed in the two-car collision shortly after 04:30 GMT on Monday on Kingsway in Burnage, Manchester.

Sylvester's partner Denise described him as "the most caring soul and gentle person you could ever meet. He had time for everybody and is loved by everyone. Syll will be sadly missed."

GMP has appealed for anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the crash to contact them.

Detective Constable Thomas Johnson said: "Firstly, I want to say that our thoughts remain with the families and friends of Sylvester - we are continuing to support them wherever we can.

"While we have secured two arrests, this is still an active investigation, and we are looking for anyone who has any information regarding the case to come forward to get in touch with us."
