Man bailed after five injured in two-car crash

A man has been arrested and three people remain in hospital after a two-car crash in Leicestershire.

Police were called to Beggars Lane, near the junction with Desford Road in Enderby, after the crash between a green Volkswagen Polo and white Mercedes at 18:11 GMT on Saturday.

Five people were taken to hospital - two passengers of the Polo and a Mercedes passenger remain with serious injuries.

The Polo driver - a 30-year-old from Leicester - was detained on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail.

The force's serious collision investigation unit is continuing to look into the crash, and appealed to anyone who witnessed the vehicles travelling beforehand or who has relevant dashcam footage to contact officers.
