The family of a "much loved" mother who died when her car was involved in a crash with a bus have paid tribute to her.

Karen Marks, 34, from Littleport in Cambridgeshire, died when her white Fiat Punto was in a collision with a single-decker bus on the A10 near Ely at about 12:25 GMT on Sunday.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger in her car, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remained in a stable condition.

Ms Marks' family said in a statement, issued via Cambridgeshire Police, that she was someone who "touched so many people's lives".

"Once you met Karen, you would never forget her," they said.

"She was like a firework when she came in and you knew when she was around.

"She was a very much-loved daughter, mother and sister and touched so many people's lives."

No-one on the bus was injured, police said. The force appealed for any dashcam footage.
