Boy, 16, in hospital after city centre stabbing

A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed in Nottingham city centre, police have said.

Emergency services were called to George Street at 17:51 GMT on Wednesday to reports the teenager sustained two stab wounds.

Nottinghamshire Police said the victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken by ambulance to hospital.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life altering in nature, and his family has been made aware, the force added.

Officers erected a cordon at the scene and detectives said they have launched an investigation and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
