A man has died following a collision with a car on a city ring road.

Emergency services were called to the A4174 between Wraxall Road and Marsham Way in Longwell Green, near Bristol, at about 17:20 GMT on Wednesday and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours for investigation work to be carried out and reopened at 02:40 GMT.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said the man's next of kin have been informed and asked anybody with information or dashcam footage captured in the area around the time of the collision to contact the force.
