Minor injury unit forced to close for cleaning
GoogleA minor injury unit has been forced to close for deep cleaning.
Clevedon Minor Injury Unit was forced to close on Sunday afternoon and say they are not expecting to reopen until Tuesday.
In a statement Dr Andrea Gordon, Chief Operating Officer for Sirona care & health, who run the unit, said that the centre had been closed as a "precautionary measure," and that they are "proactively managing the situation and will reopen the facility as soon as we can."
Dr Gordon said anyone needing urgent help to contact NHS 111 or head to the South Bristol Urgent Treatment Centre or Yate Minor Injury Unit if they know the treatment required.
She also added that the centre may need to remain closed past Tuesday if deemed necessary.
The structure of the building is safe and there is no known permanent damage.
