Crashes and flooding on A43 cause disruption

Two crashes and flooding led to road closures and long delays on the A43 in Northamptonshire.

In the first incident, police were called at 07:20 GMT to a crash involving three cars and a lorry near Kettering, between the Rockingham Road roundabout and junction seven of the A14.

A car driver was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries, before the road reopened at 08:10.

In the second crash, two drivers needed hospital treatment after their cars collided near Blatherwycke. The road reopened by 11:10.

Northamptonshire Police issued a warning about standing water on roads on Thursday night following heavy rainfall.
