On Sunday the police force confirmed a body believed to be that of the missing man had been found in the River Derwent at about 10:30 BST.

The police said formal identification had not yet taken place, but the man's family had been made aware.

It also said the death was not being treated as suspicious and there was not believed to be any third-party involvement.
