Club issues banning orders after criminal damage
Emma Baugh/BBCPeterborough United says it has issued banning orders "following incidents of criminal damage" at its ground over the weekend.
The club said a number of seats were damaged and signs were dismantled during a match at the Weston Homes stadium on London Road, adding that it had taken "immediate action".
In a statement on the club website, the club said one supporter had already received a lengthy ban, with "further bans and sanctions to be issued to others once our investigation is complete".
It added that the matter had been referred to the police. Cambridgeshire Police has also been contacted for a comment.
Peterborough United secured a 6-1 victory at home over Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
It said: "The club continues to work extremely hard to improve the matchday experience for all supporters. This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
"Peterborough United is proud to be an inclusive, family-friendly football club. We will continue to work with the relevant authorities to identify all those involved and take the strongest possible action.
"Anyone who undermines the experience for others is not welcome at this football club."
Cambridgeshire Police said the incidents have been logged and will be investigated alongside the club to identify those responsible.
