Lido to open earlier to mark 90th birthday
Emma Baugh/BBCA previously under-threat lido says it will be opening earlier this year.
Peterborough Lido, on Bishop's Road, will open on 28 March to coincide with its 90th birthday.
Previously, the city council announced cost-cutting proposals, including mothballing the lido, which is the city's only public pool and has cost the council about £400,000 a year to run.
Vivacity, which runs the outdoor pool, said on social media it was "excited" to announce that the season opening date had been brought forward.
The open-air swimming pool is usually open between April and September, although its season had been extended previously due to the closure of the city's Regional Pool.
Plans for mechanical covers for the Grade II listed pool had been submitted to help reduce energy costs.
