Police investigating the death of a man at a Peterborough property have made a second arrest.

Emergency services were called to Gladstone Street in Millfield on Wednesday morning following reports a man was found unconscious. A 50-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cambridgeshire Police said a 31-year-old man, from the city, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday and he remains in custody.

A man aged 37, from Stowmarket in Suffolk, who was previously arrested on suspicion of murder, has been bailed.

Det Ch Insp Matt Inwood, from the Major Crime Unit, said officers understood the death would be concerning for residents and he appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

"Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this time," he said, adding that specialist officers were supporting them.
