Family pays tribute as man charged over city murder
Cambridgeshire PoliceThe family of a man found dead at a house said "no one will ever be able to ease this sorrow, grief and pain" as police released his name and charged a 31-year-old with his murder.
Cambridgeshire Police said 50-year-old Imran Bashir was found unconscious at Gladstone Street in Millfield, Peterborough, at about 10:45 GMT on Wednesday. He died at the scene.
Officers said Filippo Femminile, of Ellindon, in the Bretton area of the city, had been charged with murder and had appeared at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
In a tribute issued through police, Bashir's family said: "Though his life was taken far too soon, his love was not."
'Our hearts'
It continued: "It lives on in the memories he created the values he passed down, and the lives he shaped forever.
"He will be remembered not for the way he died, but for the way he lived - and for the love he gave so freely.
"He is gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. We love you and you will be missed for the rest of our lives.
"As a family, we kindly ask for respect and understanding during this difficult time, and we are grateful for your support and prayers. Keep praying for us."
Bashir's cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Police said Femminile had been remanded in custody to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday.
A 37-year-old man from Stowmarket, Suffolk, arrested on suspicion of murder earlier in the week had been bailed, the force said.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101.
