Cash was stolen from the Co-op in Plympton in an overnight ram-raid

Thieves have used a stolen telehandler to break down the wall of a supermarket and steal a cash machine during an overnight ram-raid.

The break-in happened at the Co-op store on Glen Road, in Plympton, at about 01:45 GMT, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Officers believe a John Deere telehandler that was stolen earlier in the night was used to smash the wall and remove the cash machine.

The thieves left the scene with cash and police are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
