All Le Murier School pupils were sent home after a water pressure problem

An "unexpected water pressure issue" forced some students to be sent home early, the States of Guernsey has said.

Le Murier School, which was significantly affected by the issue, sent all pupils home while classes ended early for Year 10 and 11 pupils at St Sampsons, officials said.

A States spokesperson said a repair initially improved water pressure but levels dropped again and toilets were affected.

The schools contacted parents and carers, while students who could not be collected or make their way home early could stay safely at school, said the States.

The States said all community hires after teaching hours were cancelled but the schools were expected to open as normal on Tuesday.
