New flats and restaurant proposed for The Bridge
ArctechPlans have been submitted to demolish a row of buildings in St Sampson and replace them with new housing and hospitality units.
The proposals, submitted by Victory Construction through Arctech Freelance Architecture, would see the entire block on Commercial Road knocked down to create 11 new flats.
A café is also proposed for the ground floor on The Bridge, replacing the RNLI shop, with a restaurant on the level above offering views across St Sampson's Harbour.
Martin Search, owner of Ray & Scott Jewellers at The Bridge, said the proposals were "quite exciting for this area".
"I've been involved in The Bridge for over 50 years and it's a passion of mine to actually get it finished and get it up to scratch again," Search said.
"With Leale's Yard hopefully coming on song, and what we're doing here if we get permission, it will be quite exciting.
"This is a massive financial undertaking and it's certainly not an easy undertaking.
"We're doing it purely for the love of The Bridge," he added.
