The family of a man who died following an assault outside a cocktail bar, say they have been left "devastated" by his death.

Joshua Johnson-Hector was found with a serious head injury outside the Savanna venue on Bristol Street, Birmingham, just after 04:15 GMT on 28 December.

He died in hospital the following afternoon.

His family are appealing to anyone with information to come forward as they hope to "get justice" for the 31-year-old.

"Even if you had witnessed something you feel is of no importance, seemingly insignificant pieces of information could be of great help," they said in a statement released by West Midlands Police.

"We are unable to bring our son and brother back, yet we have the right to bring those responsible to justice."

They added that Joshua came from "a loving family who are devastated by his killing and untimely death".
