Comedian and Strictly Come Dancing star Jayde Adams will host a charity concert later, celebrating hospice patients and those who care for them.

Moments of Light, which features music, dance and poetry alonside real-life stories, takes place at Bristol Beacon's Lantern Hall, with proceeds going to St Peter's Hospice, which is based in the city.

The show is part of Bristol Light Festival, a yearly show based around the city centre, composed of art installations which use light to create dramatic visual effects.

"I'm deeply connected to Bristol and I'm so proud to support events that celebrate community, compassion and the people who bring light to others during difficult times," said Adams.

Susan Hamilton, St Peter's Hospice CEO, expressed delight at getting Adams to host and described the event as a "special evening".

She added: "The Moments of Light event will remember and celebrate the lives of those we care for and the incredible nurses who bring light to families every day."

The concert will feature the City of Bristol Choir, led by conductor and composer David Ogden, alongside the St Peter's Hospice Choir.

They will be joined by Cuban dance artist Yandi from the group Tropica Dance Cuba, while another group - XE Dance - will present a lyrical piece that explores light through choreography.

Bristol's Grief Choir will also perform.

The group is made up of people who are grieving and aims to help them navigate it through group singing and shared experience.

"We will also have a panel discussion with one of our amazing hospice nurses and a service user who has experienced our care," said Hamilton.

"We're so pleased to be part of Bristol Light Festival and are looking forward to this magical evening."
