Two 14-year-old boys are in police custody

Two boys have been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire at a former pub.

Firefighters said the "derelict pub" in Holme-on-Spalding Moor had been "well alight" and five appliances had been sent.

Humberside Police said they were called to a property in Moor End at about 02:40 GMT.

No one was injured and two 14-year-old boys were in custody, a spokesperson for the force added.

In a post on social media, Market Weighton fire station said appliances had been sent from Howden, Goole and Brough, along with an aerial ladder platform from Hull.

A spokesperson for Humberside Fire and Rescue said it was important to keep internal doors closed, even in derelict buildings, to stop fire spreading.
