Colourful artworks have been spotted around Bristol as the city's light festival returns.

In Gloucestershire, wild boars have been having fun in the mud and an Olympic snowboarder has made her debut.

In Wiltshire, the ongoing wet weather has provided good photo opportunities while staff at a hospital have been praised for their amazing work.

Miracle dog: A dog owner has praised volunteers for their help in the "miracle" recovery of her dachshund, which went missing after escaping onto a motorway. Two-year-old Mabel sparked a huge search on Friday after slipping her collar at Leigh Delamere services before running onto the M4 towards incoming traffic.

Bristol's long-awaited 20,000 capacity arena has officially been named. About 2,000 jobs are expected to be created in the construction of what will become the Aviva Arena in Filton, north Bristol.

Mid-air: Maisie Hill from Cheltenham bowed out of her Winter Olympics debut this week. The snowboarder, who was told she may never walk again after breaking multiple bones in a crash in 2023, said even though she was out of the games, she does not intend on stopping any time soon.

Empowering the youth: A new outdoor project has been launched in the North Cotswolds to support people aged between 16-25 in rural areas who are struggling with social isolation. Organised by Creative Sustainability CIC, the project offers residential and camping trips, bike workshops, a youth climate group and indoor climbing experiences to young people.
