A man in his 50s was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the crash

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car.

The collision happened in St Paul's Road in Cheltenham on Friday afternoon and involved a Nissan Micra, which collided with the man in his 50s and a parked Mercedes.

Road closures were put in place and an air ambulance attended the scene. The man was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by land ambulance.

The driver of the Nissan, a woman in her 70s, was checked over by paramedics at the scene.

Gloucestershire Police said it would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, which happened at about 14:15 GMT.

The road has since reopened and police enquiries are ongoing.
