Two arrests after police called to rooftop protest

Police have made two arrests after a building was allegedly damaged during a rooftop protest.

Officers were called to reports that a group of trespassers had accessed the top of electronics firm Keysight Technologies in Winnersh, Berkshire, on Wednesday morning.

Members of the public were urged to stay away from the area while the force dealt with the incident, which saw people on the building displaying a Palestinian flag.

Two women - a 38-year-old of no fixed abode and a 20-year-old from Nottingham - were arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass and criminal damage worth over £5,000 to property.

Det Insp Stuart Streeter said: "I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while we dealt with this incident, which has now been safely resolved."

Keysight Technologies was approached for comment.
