Murder suspect released after man attacked at house
BBCA man held on suspicion of murder after another man was attacked at a house in Chesterfield has been released.
Derbyshire Police said officers were called to reports of an assault at the property in Southgate Way, Barrow Hill, at about 13:00 GMT on Tuesday.
Jason Smith, 53, of Southgate Way, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died on Thursday evening.
A 20-year-old Sheffield man who was arrested on Friday was released pending further investigations on Saturday night, said the force.
On Friday, the force said the area would continue to see an increased police presence throughout the weekend.
Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone leaving the Southgate Way area at about 13:00 GMT on Tuesday 20 January.
They also urged anyone with CCTV footage from the surrounding streets, as well as any drivers who may have been in the area at the time with dashcam footage, to come forward.
