Castle walls to illuminate with 38,000 lights

More than 38,000 lights will illuminate Lincoln Castle's walls in the run-up to Christmas.

They will be switched on later and then every Wednesday to Sunday until 23 December.

There will also be food and drink, a snow machine, fairground attraction and a mini Christmas Express train ride in the castle grounds.

Lincolnshire County Council said the gates open each weekday evening at 17:30 GMT and at 16:00 on weekends, closing at 21:00.

Dog-friendly evenings will take place on 4 December, 11 December and 18 December.
