Third suspected arson attack on burger hut

The owner of a family-run burger business has said he is fearful for its future after being targeted by an arson attack for a third time.

Adam Miller's food outlet, Higgsy's, was set on fire in Norman Cross, Yaxley, near Peterborough, overnight.

Mr Miller said the fire caused a lot of damage internally and externally, forcing it to shut. He said it had left his business "completely totalled".

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the incident at about 02:40 BST with reports of a fire involving a fast-food shed in a layby. It is thought the fire was started deliberately.

Cambridgeshire Police has launched an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage after a series of suspected arson attacks at the burger hut.

Previous fires were reported at the same business at about 06:00 on 16 August and 17:30 on 16 September, a police spokesperson said.

Mr Miller said: "We are not open today. But we also have no idea when we'll be able to open again.

"This will cost thousands to replace and that's something we simply just don't have."

Members of the community have launched a fundraiser to help get the business back on its feet.
