A man has described his shock after witnessing a "huge" car fire in a town.

Pavel Samonkov, 28, said he looked through a window and saw the car on fire on Elm Road, Wisbech, at about 21:00 GMT on Sunday.

He said he saw a "huge flame" and could hear "crackling noises".

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters arrived to find a car on fire. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and returned to their station by 22:00."
