Driver dies after car crashes into home in village

The driver of a car that crashed into a home in Nottinghamshire has died.

Nottinghamshire Police said it was called to reports a blue Hyundai had crashed into a residential property in Annesley Lane, Selston, just after 08:00 GMT on Friday.

The driver, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, the force added.

An investigation is now under way and police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

Det Sgt Charlotte Henson, from the serious collision investigation unit, said: "Our sympathies remain with the families and friends that have lost their loved one.

"They are being supported by our specially trained officers during this difficult time."
