A man has been taken to hospital following an industrial accident in a village in Nottinghamshire.

Emergency services were called to reports a man had fallen through a residential property being worked on in Nottingham Road, Selston, at about 12:20 GMT on Monday.

East Midlands Ambulance Service said the air ambulance was deployed to the scene, but the man was later taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in an ambulance.

Nottinghamshire Police said it believed the man suffered a broken leg but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Nottingham Road was closed for a period to allow emergency services to safely access the scene.

The road reopened about 90 minutes after the initial 999 call was made, the force added.
